Headux TitanTig 400P AC/DC

Industrial AC/DC TIG Power — Built for Aluminium & Heavy Fabrication

AC/DC TIG • MMA/Lift TIG/HF TIG • 400A • Pulse • 3-Phase 400V • Water Cooled

WHY FABRICATORS CHOOSE THE TITANTIG 400P AC/DC

Picture welding a 5mm aluminium marine frame — clean AC arc, no porosity, no burn-through — then switching to DC and running a root pass on a stainless pressure vessel without touching a single cable. That's the everyday reality with the TitanTig 400P AC/DC.

With 400A output, AC/DC switching, and a heavy-duty 60% duty cycle at full power, this machine is engineered for industrial environments where downtime is not an option. The pulse function keeps heat input low on ultra-thin surfaces, while the selectable Up/Down Slope and Pre/Post Flow give you complete control over every weld start and finish.

Whether you're running a fabrication shop, a shipyard, or a precision engineering facility — the TitanTig 400P AC/DC delivers the arc stability and output power to match your ambition.

WHAT MAKES IT DIFFERENT

AC/DC Switching — One Machine, All Metals

AC mode for aluminium and magnesium alloys. DC mode for stainless steel, mild steel, copper, and titanium. Switch between processes without rewiring — the TitanTig 400P handles them all.

HF & Lift Arc Start — Clean Ignition Every Time

High-frequency arc start fires the arc without touching the workpiece — protecting your tungsten and your weld surface. Lift TIG and MMA modes are also available for maximum versatility on site.

Pulse Function — Precision on Ultra-Thin Surfaces

Pulse frequency 0.5–999 Hz with 5–95% pulse width range. Alternating peak and background current reduces heat input, eliminates distortion, and produces a consistent stacked-dime bead — even on the thinnest aluminium sheet.

Up/Down Slope & Pre/Post Flow — Total Arc Control

Selectable Up/Down Slope time (0–10s) ramps current smoothly at start and finish — eliminating crater cracks. Pre/Post Flow (0–2s / 0–10s) shields the tungsten and weld pool during cooling, essential for aluminium and stainless.

Heavy Duty Cycle — Built for Industrial Production

60% duty cycle at 400A and 100% at 310A (40°C). Designed for continuous production environments where the machine runs all day. Temperature, voltage, and current sensors provide multi-layer protection throughout.

Water Cooled Torch — Sustained High-Amperage Output

Supplied with a 5m WP18 water-cooled torch (without current regulation). Optional water cooler unit and HMT300 trolley available — keeping the torch cool and the operator comfortable during long production runs.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Can the TitanTig 400P AC/DC weld aluminium?
Yes. The TitanTig 400P AC/DC features a dedicated AC TIG mode specifically designed for aluminium and magnesium alloys. The adjustable AC frequency (50–250 Hz) lets you control arc width and cleaning action for optimal results on cast, extruded, and sheet aluminium.
What is the difference between the 320 and 400P models?
The TitanTig 400P offers a higher maximum output of 400A (vs 320A) and a higher 100% duty cycle current of 310A (vs 250A), making it better suited for heavy industrial production. Both share the same AC/DC capability, pulse function, and IP23 protection class.
Does it require a water cooler?
The machine is supplied with a 5m WP18 water-cooled torch. A separate water cooler unit (A91001-312) is available as an optional accessory and is strongly recommended for sustained high-amperage operation to protect the torch and maintain weld quality.
Does it support foot pedal control?
Yes. A 3m wired foot pedal (A91001-903) is available as an optional accessory, enabling real-time amperage control during welding — essential for positional work and thin aluminium fabrication.
What shielding gas is required?
Use 100% Argon (Ar) for both AC TIG (aluminium) and DC TIG (steel/stainless). Flow rate: 10–15 L/min depending on joint geometry and torch size. Do not use mixed gases (Ar/CO&sub2;) for TIG welding.
Is the machine CE certified for EU use?
Yes. The TitanTig 400P AC/DC is fully CE certified and compliant with EU Low Voltage and EMC Directives. IP23 protection class and Class H insulation make it suitable for industrial and regulated environments across Europe.
What warranty is included?
All Headux machines include a 2-year warranty with support from our German engineering team. Contact us at headux.de/pages/contact-us for warranty claims or technical assistance.
